Inspirers HTN is a mobile application for collecting data on adherence to self-monitoring of the blood pressure and therapy for people with arterial hypertension, owned by MEDIDA , developed with CINTESIS, Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto (http://cintesis.eu/pt/homepage/). MEDIDA is a Portuguese company specialized in health and Research and Development (R&D) services for allergic diseases and respiratory pathophysiology. Its acronym reflects its main areas of practice: Medicine, Education, Research, Development and Evaluation. Its main objectives are to increase the quality of life of people with chronic diseases, providing health services and technological solutions that are customized and continuously improved through Research, Development and Innovation. CINTESIS – Center for Research in Health Technologies and Services- is a R&D Unit, whose mission is to find answers and solutions, in the short term, for specific health problems, without losing sight of the cost/efficiency relation.
Privacy Policy
Personal data, including health data, that the user enters into the app will be collected.
This application is in beta version (experimental version, under development) and may contain errors. Please report your difficulties and errors to the following email: paceit.cintesis@gmail.com. In the current version the application will be used mainly in research studies, in particular for validation and improvement of the system.
By using the application you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Your privacy is an undeniable right that is very important to us. That’s why we have this Privacy Policy, which describes our practices for collecting and disseminating information through the Inspirers HTN application. This Privacy Policy explains why we collect certain personal information and how we protect the personal information that is provided to us. Likewise, we inform you of your rights and the conditions under which we provide information, both to you and to third parties. According to the GDPR, CINTESIS is responsible for the treatment of your personal data and for the processing thereof, whether performed by CINTESIS or its subcontractors.

What it is “personal data”?
“Personal data” refers to any identifiable information that identifies you or that could reasonably be used to identify you or identify a third party and that is submitted to and / or collected by the app and maintained in an accessible format. Some examples of personal information include your name, email and health information.
What information do we collect and how is that information used?
When using the application it will ask you for data and will collect information on the use of the application, the model of the mobile device and audio recordings obtained through it. We use this information to help us improve the design of the application and other products, to communicate information to you, to improve our marketing and research activities and to facilitate other business features. The personal data you provide to us when using the application will be used for the execution to carry out market research, for the statistical analysis of the users of the application in order to have a quantitative idea of the users who need a better treatment, to react to certain environmental conditions , determine what are the most common symptoms and reactions and to inform you about the news of our company and our future products and services that fit your areas of interest. Information related to your health that can be designated as “sensitive” under the data protection laws of some jurisdictions, can only be collected with your express agreement. Additional security measures will be taken, as required by local law for the processing of such information. Your data will be stored on secure servers and suitable for the protection of personal data. The collected data will be stored for a maximum period of 15 years.
Your rights
In accordance with GDPR, you can request, at any time, access to the information that is collected about you. You can also request to change, correct or delete your personal information. You can also choose not to receive future communications from us. If you wish, please contact us through the contacts below. If you ask us to remove your personal information, it may result in the impossibility of continuing to provide you with our services.
Property rights
Unless otherwise specified, all rights, including copyright and other intellectual property rights in the app, the underlying databases and the information provided by you, will belong to MEDIDA.
The user is authorized to consult the application and the information contained therein and to make copies of such data for personal use, for example, when copying the screen (print screen) or storing such information. Any other use of the application or information, for example, the storage or reproduction of (a part of) the application on any external website or the creation of links, hyperlinks or deeplinks between the app and any other website, is prohibited, except with express and written consent form MEDIDA.
Unsolicited ideas
If unsolicited ideas and / or materials are sent, by email or otherwise, including without limitation, text, images, sounds, software or information (the “Materials”), app owners have the right to use them, copy and / or exploit commercially, to the fullest extent, without having to pay any amount. You will not be required to maintain confidentiality with respect to such Materials.
Hereby, the user is obliged to indemnify the owners of the app in relation to all damages and costs that may be incurred in the context of any claims by third parties regarding the use and / or exploitation of the Materials that violate property rights ( intellectual property) of a third party or that is unlawful with respect to a third party.
Business continuity
The user agrees that the rights on the databases that remain on his collected personal information are the property of MEDIDA.
In the event of an acquisition, merger, sale or other transaction and the database, or the company that owns the database, is acquired by a third party, the user now agrees with the disclosure of his personal information to his consultants and the third party acquirer, during and after the transaction, with a view to facilitating and concluding the transaction. When the transaction is completed, the user will be informed of the transaction and the ownership and control of the database and the personal information he has provided. Personal information will be transferred to third parties in accordance with the provisions and limitations of this privacy policy. If the transaction is not completed, we will ensure that the third party agrees to cease using the users’ personal data.
Cookies
This app does not use cookies to obtain information about its use. Only a temporary cookie or so-called session cookies will be placed for connectivity purposes. When installing the application, the user authorized the placement of these temporary cookies.
Session cookies are small temporary information that is erased as soon as you turn off your device. Personal information, such as phone numbers or email addresses, cannot be obtained through session cookies. Thus, cookies cannot be used for the purposes of electronic marketing or telemarketing.
Updates
Inspirers HTN owners reserve the right to change and / or update the information, products and services referred to in this application, at any time and without prior notice.
Security
Protecting your privacy is important to both you and us. That is why our systems and programs are adequately protected. We use management procedures to keep information accurate, up-to-date and complete and to prevent unauthorized persons from accessing your personal information inside and outside our organization. This includes, inter alia, encryption of connections and content. Despite measures to protect all personal information, we ask that you be careful when transmitting personal information over the Internet, especially personal information related to your health.
Your data will be stored on secure servers at MEDIDA and / or CINTESIS.
Cancellation of terms
If the terms of this Privacy Policy are declared partially invalid, the parties remain bound by the remaining terms. The parties must replace invalid terms with provisions that, taking into account their content and purpose, are valid and have a legal effect similar or as close as possible to that of the invalid term.
Applicable law and jurisdiction
Without prejudice to the local law that is imperatively applicable, these terms are exclusively subject to the Portuguese law in force. All disputes arising from these terms must be submitted to a competent court in Portugal.
Changes to the Privacy Policy
Inspirers HTN owners reserve the right to make changes and / or updates to this Privacy Policy to reflect technological advances, legal and regulatory changes and good business practices.
An updated version will be created to reflect such changes and the same will be notified to users by updating the effective date indicated at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.

If you have any questions regarding the use, alteration, access or deletion of personal information that you have provided to us, please contact us via email to geral@medidasaude.net or paceit.cintesis@gmail.com. Please include in your email a detailed explanation of your order. If you want to delete, change or correct your personal data, please put the indication “Request for Deletion” or “Request for Alteration / Correction”, as appropriate, in the email header. We will do our best to respond to all reasonable requests in a timely manner.
Consent regarding the collection, processing and use of personal data
I agree that the data entered in the Inspirers HTN mobile application, including health data and recorded images, as well as the data generated when using this data can be processed and used as described previously (contract execution, statistical analysis, information about new products or services and conducting market research).
I agree that the data entered in the Inspirers HTN mobile application described above can be anonymized and transferred or sold to pharmaceutical or health companies for commercial purposes and to academic institutions for research purposes.
I further agree with the transfer of data to different jurisdictions, including outside the EU, in accordance with EU data protection standards.
By using this application you are agreeing to this Privacy Policy and giving the authorizations described above.
